A YouTube channel is your personal or business "Channel" on the YouTube "video" network.  It's a single address where you can upload and organize all of your YouTubevideos.  Once you have given your customers or family and friends the Channel address, all of your video content will be available to them from your Playlist.

Steps to Creating a YouTube Channel

1. Create either a YouTube personal or business account. (You can sign in to YouTube with your Google account since Google owns YouTube.
2. Create a Channel name that reflects your company brand name.
3. Click on your user name while on any YouTube page and copy your channel URL. (youtube/[yourchannelname])
4. Share this URL with anyone you will be sharing your videos with.
5. Be sure the check box to hide the video remains checked until you are ready to release the video.

Additional Information About Channels

• You may customize the appearance of your channel using the "Edit Channel" button and following the prompts
• You can vary the layout of the YouTubeChannel home page by clicking the "Featured" tab under "Channel Settings."  There are four choices:
  • Creator – Most Popular – One featured video at top and playlist at the bottom
  • Blogger – Displayed in reverse chronological order
  • Network
  • Everything
  • To upload a video, just select the "Upload" button.
  • Video length is limited to 15 minutes or a file size of 2GB. For anything longer, you need to apply for permission.
  • Plain image files like .jpeg and MP3 files are NOT supported in YouTube
  • Once you upload your video, you will be prompted to complete the details regarding the video and options for sharing the video.
  • Be sure to keep your profile up to date by checking it periodically.
