Spiffy Up Your Website

Spring is a great time to press the reset button. With everything in nature refreshed and renewed, it's natural to want to update your website as well! Sometimes it's easy to forget that your website is your company's home: more often than not, it's what people see first if they don't, or can't, come in to your office or store. Updating it frequently: with blog posts or information, text, and graphics that are true to your brand, shows your customers and potential customers that you took the time to do something new.

In addition, keep in mind that technology is constantly evolving. Web technology that was the newest and best six months ago is now old news. Better, faster methods are created, and new security threats always arise. Keeping your website up to date is a great way to ensure your customers that you are aware of the best and safest technology, and that you value their safety and their business.

Here are a few ways to update your website for spring:

#1 Consider adding graphics, art, and pictures that reflect the new season.

I get that your logo is your baby, and that there is absolutely no way that you will change it. Duly noted. So consider adding fun and creative elements that represent the changing season. This lets your customers know that you're current and monitoring your site. And, more importantly, it's fun!

#2 Stay informed of current technology and security threats.

Reading is still fundamental. There are so many resources out there to keep small businesses informed on maintaining the best and safest websites possible, online and offline. Also remember that if you don't know, hire a pro. It's in your best interest to work with a web designer and/or graphic designer that can really help you keep your site up to date.

#3 Keep your customers engaged.

Spring is a great time to restart the conversation with your customers. If you've never used coupons or promotional codes on your website, do it now! If you've never added links to your social media on your site, do it as well! Build a conversation, and get them involved. Doing so creates a relationship with your customers, and they can't wait to hear from you.
